CHAPTER SAFETY AWARDS
The Chapter Safety Award is given by ABC Chesapeake Chapter to member firms that exhibit a sustained commitment to jobsite safety. Recipients will be determined by identifying those companies with meritorious safety performance per membership classification and by size of organization. Safety factor calculations incorporate the use of the OSHA frequency formula. There is a $25 application fee.
Mid Atlantic Construction Safety Conference
The Mid Atlantic Construction Safety Conference is a regionally coordinated educational and networking conference. Regional and National Chapters and Associations have combined their resources in an effort to address the needs of those with a vested interest in construction safety.
This years conference was held at The Show Place Arena and Prince Georges Equestrian Center, located at 14900 Pennsylvania Ave, Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This conference is designed to attract Owners, Managers, Supervisors and Safety Professionals interested in enhancing their knowledge of construction safety. Additionally the Conference hosted a large complement of vendors displaying the most innovative and up-to-date construction safety products. This years Key note Speaker was Former NFL Quarterback Joe Theissman and Robert Ehrlich attended as a special guest.
Safety classes are scheduled throughout the year and include, but are not limited to:
- Crane Safety
- First Aid CPR
- Boom Lift
- 32-Hour Backflow Certification
- OSHA 10-Hour
- Scaffolding Safety & Certification

The mission of the Safety Committee is to provide leadership and direction to members and their employees regarding safety and health issues. The committee's goals are to save, protect and enhance the lives of workers and the community and to bring about a renewed commitment to safety and health in the construction industry by planning and providing Safety Training.
Our committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
