What trades do you offer?
C.O.R.E. (Construction Orientation and Readiness Education), carpentry, cement mason, concrete form building, drywall, electrical, glazier, heavy equipment operator, HVAC, laborer, masonry, painting, pipe fitting, pipe insulator, plumbing, reinforcing ironwork, roofing, sheet metal, sprinkler fitting, steamfitting, structural ironwork and welding.
When do classes begin?
Trade classes generally start in September and run through May.
How long is your program?
The apprentice program is a four (4) year program.
What is the difference between an apprentice and a craft trainee?
A craft trainee is a student. An apprentice is a student who works for a company and must be registered with the Maryland Apprenticeship Training Council (MATC). Apprentices earn a certificate of completion at the end of their four (4) years of training and on-the-job (OJT) training that is indicative of you having the knowledge of a journeyman.
How do I apply?
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older and provide your high school diploma, GED certificate, or a high school transcript with your registration materials. You must be able to present valid legal documents for employment in the United States. Anyone is welcome to apply regardless of gender or ethnic group. What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover. We also accept checks, money orders or cash.
Do you offer Advanced Placement Testing?
Yes, you may test out of certain levels, at the request of your employer. Email us for more information.
If I enroll, will you provide me with a job?
No, we do not provide employment. However we can provide you with a list of employers who currently participating in the program.
I am an employer and I need to enroll students in your program. What do I need to do?
If the student’s company is new to the Chesapeake Construction Education and Apprenticeship Trust (CCEAT) apprenticeship program, you will need to complete the employer registration materials. Additionally, the student registration materials must be completed for each individual student that you will be enrolling. (Employer Registration Materials and Student Registration Materials) Please note that all paperwork must be completed and submitted in its entirety. All incomplete paperwork will be returned to its sender. Students and/or employers are not enrolled until all paperwork is completed.
